TYPICAL OBJECTS OF TYPE Union 1D Fn
This type represents a function ƒ produced by r functions ƒ₁ , ƒ₂ , ... , ƒᵣ that are defined on non-overlapping intervals on the real axis.
All functions ƒ₁ , ƒ₂ , ... , ƒᵣ must be capable of processing one single input variable.
The first function ƒ₁ is defined on some interval I₁, the second function ƒ₂ on some interval I₂ and the last function ƒᵣ on the interval Iᵣ
These intervals must be distinct and in strict increasing order.
Notationally, the function formula is given by:
ƒ(x) = ƒᵢ(x) if x ∊ Iᵢ for i = 1 , ... , r
Also all functions must agree on their Input Variables element.
As an example, below is the chart of a Union 1D Fn function composed of 3 linear functions, i.e. with r = 3 and ƒ₁ , ƒ₂ , ƒ₃ all being functions of type Linear Fn
