TYPICAL OBJECTS OF TYPE Linear Fn

</defs>

This type represents a function ƒ that maps u real variable numbers x₁, x₂, ..., xᵤ to one number, as folows:
ƒ(x₁,x₂,...,xᵤ) = m₁x₁ + m₂x₂ + ... + mᵤxᵤ + c
where m₁, m₂, ..., mᵤ and c are given fixed constants specfied through the keys
Slope and Intercept respectively.

For simplicity, it is assumed in the description here the regular case whereby all input variables x₁, x₂, ..., xᵤ are processed in the given order by the function, but it is possible to process only a selected subset of this variables and/or under a different order through the use of the optional key
Input Variables

If the number of input variables exceeds the number of coefficients u, the function processes only the first u variables and ignores the rest.

In its basic form and in the case of one input variable x₁, the chart of the output of the function Linear Fn against x₁ is a straight line, as the line A in the diagram below, where the horizontal axis holds the values from 0 to 10 for the input variable x₁
It is possible though to set up the function's parameters in such a way that more interesting charts arise, such as the the line B or the line C.
