TYPICAL OBJECTS OF TYPE Real Triggerred Signal
This type represents a function ƒ that maps u real variables x₁ , x₂ , ... , xᵤ into one integer variable and constructed with the help of the following two sequences:
The first sequence consists of r predicate functions ƒ₁ , ƒ₂ , ... , ƒᵣ (also known as triggers), each of which maps the same u real variables x₁ , x₂ , ... , xᵤ into one boolean variable.
The predicate functions ƒ₁ , ƒ₂ , ... , ƒᵣ are expected to be objects of which the type is a subtype of Real Trigger
The second sequence consists of r integers i₁ , i₂ , ... , iᵣ that correspond to the predicate functions.
Any given set of u real variables x₁ , x₂ , ... , xᵤ is mapped to one integer according to the following recipe.
First the first predicate function ƒ₁ is evaluated for that set of input variables.
If ƒ₁ returns TRUE, the integer i₁ is the function's final returned value and the remaining predicate functions are ignored.
If ƒ₁ returns FALSE, the second predicate function ƒ₂ is evaluated for the same set of input variables.
If ƒ₂ returns TRUE, the integer i₂ is the function's final returned value and the remaining predicate functions are ignored.
If ƒ₂ returns FALSE, the third predicate function ƒ₃ is evaluated and this continues until a predicate function returns TRUE or no remaining predicate function exists.
If all predicate functions return FALSE, the function's final returned value is some prespecified default integer.
