Itemized Output
Key Itemized Output in Number Is Inside Fn refers to an optional boolean that can be used to instruct the function to return detailed information about whether each of the input variables x₁ , x₂ , ... , xᵤ is within its corresponding interval.
If missing, the default is FALSE, which means the function returns only 0 or 1.
If set to TRUE, the function returns a number, the binary representation of which contains the mentioned information.
For example, assume there exist 4 input variables x₁ , x₂ , x₃, x₄ and the function returns the number 5
The binary representation of the number 5 utilizing 4 digits is 0101
The digits 0 , 1 , 0 , 1 of the binary number 0101 are assumed to correspond to the variables x₁ , x₂ , x₃, x₄ in that sequence.
In detail:
0 → x₁
1 → x₂
0 → x₃
1 → x₄
The interpretation is that those variables that are assigned the 1 have been found to lie within their corresponding intervals.
Those variables that are assigned the 0 have been found to lie outside their corresponding intervals.
So, the variables x₂ , x₄ are assumed to lie within their corresponding intervals and the variables x₂ , x₄ are assumed to lie outside their corresponding intervals.
It is also possible to change the above logic so that the 0s and 1s are interchanged by setting Boolean Op = NOT
