Amortization
Key Amortization in Interest Fn refers to an optional object of type Amortization that can be used to modulate the notional entered in Notional so that the effective notional used in the interest calculation becomes a function of time.
More precisely, the entry here has an effect only if at least one of the following holds:
a) An amortization date schedule is provided through the optional key Amort Schedule
b) Several (at least 2) dates d₁, d₂ , ... , dᵤ are defined in key Accr Start
If both a) and b) hold, a) takes precedence with regard to the task of defining the dates when amortization takes place.
So, either through a) or b) a series of n dates D₁, D₂ , ... , Dₙ is generated on which the effective notionals N₁, N₂ , ... , Nₙ apply, with the correspondence as below:
D₁ ↔ N₁ , D₂ ↔ N₂ , ... , Dₙ ↔ Nₙ
Look at Notional for more details on how exactly the interest for each input date d is calculated off these effective notionals.
The time-dependent notionals N₁, N₂ , ... , Nₙ can be browsed through the read-only key Notionals
